Theatre (trouble)maker
Artistic researcher
Lab catalyst

I am deeply grateful to all my collaborators, including those who participated in performances and creative processes, whether through active engagement or more subtle, supportive roles. I want to acknowledge the often-invisible labor of organizing and care work that is integral to every successful project but frequently marginalized and unrecognized.

My sincere thanks extend to my mentors, whose guidance has shaped my journey, and to my mentees, who continually inspire me and offer new opportunities for learning and growth.

Things about me.

To know someone through their achievements is like reading a landscape only by its fences. A bio is useful, but it misses the cracks where imagination and doubt seep in. I offer these words as a map, but ask you to search also for what resists being mapped.

Theatre (trouble)maker.

I grew up making theatre, and I thrive in theatrical environments. I got my professional acting diploma at the theatre school “Alessandra Galante Garrone” in Bologna, and after that I specialised through European-funded courses in musical theatre (Fondazione T2, Parma), in theatre for youth (Accademia Perduta, Faenza) and in theatre for the senses (Emilia Romagna Teatro, Modena). After moving to Barcelona, I started cultivating a sensibility for socially-engaged theatre, and got a diploma as intercultural Forum Theatre facilitator - a theatre of the oppressed tool (La Xixa, Barcelona). My current interest is ethnographic theatre and working together with communities, experimenting with contemporary dramaturgical practices to explore the new frontiers on how theatre can accompany us into post-growth imaginaries. Along these enriching endeavours, I don’t shy away from engaging with more classical theatre formats, among my recent creations are Smell it again (an interactive monologue exploring the contradictions of world waste trade), and CLIMAX, a monologue sparking reflections on what it could be to be the first climate migrants - that is, the dinosaurs.

Artistic researcher.

On top of my theatre studies, I completed an MA in Political Ecology and Environmental Justice at Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona, and an MA in Performing Public Space, from Fontys Academy of the Arts. I am currently a PhD candidate at the Universitat Obierta de Catalunya researching how collective theatre creations can help achieve water justice in different contexts. As an artistic researcher, I use artistic practices to research on different topics, and interrogate myself (and others) on how art can bring insights at different phases of the research process. I have been working as a researcher on workshops that were mixing art and science, led by Epica foundation (La Fura dels Baus), for the past three European Night of Research. You can find the publication resulting from my thesis at this link.

Lab catalyst.

I am fascinated by collective creation and learning, and have often took on the role of stirring things up and facilitating these processes. I co-founded and organized Alt-Shift, the first degrowth festival, for the past 5 years, a space for an holistic exploration of how we can build a post-growth world. I also co-founded Licheni, a festival in which people come together to play with the concept of queer ecology (and degrowth again!). I have several years of experience as a teacher, a guide to help people discover new stuff through their body, emotions and creativity. I co-founded a theatre school for kids in Italy, and I have been teaching Arts & Sustainability and Art & Environmental Justice at the MA Political ecology of UAB for the past 3 years. I hold diverse spaces for creative explorations across Europe, in different institutional and more informal settings, including University of Antwerp (transdisciplinarity), Fontys Academy of the Arts (ethnographic theatre), Tilburg University (legal theatre), LUISS (activist theatre), Degrowth Summer School in Barcelona (theatre and ecological conflict).
